Louise Laverty Obituary

Louise J. Laverty born in Lowell; 93 CHELMSFORD J. Louise (Ennis) Laverty, 93, of Chelmsford, died Dec. 6, at her Chelmsford home. She was the widow of the late William E. Laverty Jr., who passed away in 1981. Born March 18, 1914, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late John J., and the late Catherine (Fitzgerald) Ennis, attended the local schools, and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1931. Mrs. Laverty was a communicant of St. Mary's Parish, and held membership in the Senior Citizens of Chelmsford, the League of Catholic Women, the Friends of the Chelmsford Library, the Saint Francis Guild and the Sacred Heart League. She has resided in Chelmsford since 1962, and previously lived in Lowell. She was employed as a secretary for the City of Lowell Veteran's Benefit Department, and also the Internal Revenue Service in Andover. She is survived by a son, Brian W. Laverty and his wife, Susan (Burke) Laverty of Sandwich, MA; a daughter, Kathleen (Laverty) Burns, and her husband, Thomas F. Burns, of Chelmsford, with whom Mrs. Laverty resided; 3 grandchildren, David T. Burns and his wife, Heather A. (Walker) Burns, of Murfreesboro, TN, Brian Burns of Chelmsford, and Stephen W. Laverty of Worcester; 3 great grandchildren, Erin, Patrick and Allison Burns all of Murfreesboro, TN, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John Ennis, the late Thomas Ennis, the late William Ennis, the late Raymond Ennis, the late Mary Connors, the late Margaret Donaruma and the late Catherine Hatch.
