ETTA, YOU MUST KNOW HOW SPECIAL YOU AND SHIRLEY HAVE BEEN TO ME EVER SINCE OCT. 31ST, 1954 WHEN SHIRLEY FRENCH AND I, THEN ETTA CHANDLER, MARRIED. YOU USED TO PARK YOUR BUICK ON THE BACKYARD OF THE ALLEYS' WHO LIVED ADJOINED TO OUR HOUSE, GEORGE AND ALICE CHANDLER, WHOM SHIRLEY K. BECAME ONE OF THE FISHERMEN ON THE SEINER, "THE BURLEIGH," NAMED AFTER MY ONLY BROTHER WHO JUST PASSED WAY ON DEC. 20, 2008. FROM THE VERY FIRST CHRISTMAS AFTER MY SHIRLEY AND I WERE MARRIED ON OCT. 31ST, 1954, I SENT YOU AND YOUR SHIRLEY A CHRISTMAS CARD, TO SHIRLEY AND ETTA FROM SHIRLEY AND ETTA. YOU ANSWERED OUR CARD AND WE CONTINUED THIS UNTIL WE HAD OUR FIRST BABY AND THEN THE CYCLE WAS BROKEN BY THE LITTLE ADDITION MAKING THE DIFFERENCE OF THE TWO, SHIRLEYS' AND, ETTAS'. YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SPECIAL TO ME, ETTA AND I HAVE MISSED SEEING YOU AT THE POST OFFICE WHEN WE USED TO SAY TO EACH OTHER, "HELLO, ETTA". WE ARE SADDENED OF HEARING THE NEWS OF SHIRLEY'S PASSSING AND KNOW HOW LONELY YOU WILL BE, FROM THE PASSING OF MY SHIRLEY, 34 YEARS AGO, NOW WHEN HE WAS ONLY 46 AND I WAS JUST 39. SO, WE THANK GOD FOR ALL THOSE 74 WONDERFUL YEARS YOU TWO HAD IN MARRIAGE AND AS "BEST FRIENDS." PRAYERFULLY, "ETTA."

J. Merchant & J. Merchant Jr. and Famiiles,
All Is Well
I am the wind...
I am the rain...
I am the sunlight...through your windowpane.
I am the leaf...turning brown in the fall.
I am the faintest whisper... on the breeze when you call.
I am the snowflake...that kisses your cheek.
I'm the child in the park...playing hide n' seek.
I'm the scent of the flowers...that fills the spring air
I'm all around you...I'm everywhere.
I'll always be with you...from this moment on.
In your every dance...your every song.
You see when we move on...we never truly die.
We become one with nature...we unify.
Take care my precious ones...on my passing dont dwell.
Remember the love we shared together...See you again soon.
Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer. Our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow.

Aunt Etta and Family,
I still have my little wood rocking chair that Uncle Shirl made me. I knew I was officially adopted when I received that gift shortly after I made the move to the Beals Advent Christian Church. I knew when you both hugged me and told me you were happy to see me that you meant it from the heart and it meant so much to me. Uncle Shirl left a great legacy behind at the church at Beals. Even though I have been away for almost 15 years now, I still fondly remember the years I spent there. When Benita called last night to tell me Uncle Shirl had passed away, she was crying. You have to know what a huge place you both hold in all our hearts but especially in the hearts of Benita and Raymond. Though this is hard right now, just think of all the wonderful visits we will have in Heaven! Love and prayers,
