Judith Mahon Obituary
She was born in Bangor on Feb. 3, 1946, the daughter of Raymond and Lila (Waning) Braley.
Judith worked for many years as a hairdresser in the Augusta area, co-owning Mirror Images in Augusta. After retirement she continued to work parttime as a traveling hairdresser at many local nursing homes. She also worked parttime at L.L. Bean.
She was a member of the Central Maine Squares square dancers and the Capital Area Wheels. Judith enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling and shopping.
Judith was predeceased by her parents and a son Jody Mahon.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Duane Mahon; daughter Melissa Feener and her husband, Mike, of Averill Park, N.Y.; son Christian Mahon of Derry, N.H.; grandchildren Karyn Feener, Jayden Mahon, Hunter Mahon and Alexander Mahon; sisters Donna Ross and her husband, Jim, of Dixmont and Marilyn Hilton and her husband, Ben, of Veazie; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the South China Community Church.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at the church. Burial will take place in the spring in Dixmont.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 236 Stetson Road, Auburn, ME 04210; or the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086; or an organization of one's choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives Group, 198 Western Ave., Augusta, ME 04330.

My deepest sympathy on Judy's passing. I met Judy when she came to the Waterville Call Center for peak season and we made a frienship right away. I enjoyed the many talks we had. Judy was a wonderful lady and I won't forget her.

To the Mahon Family:
I was so sorry to hear the sad news from Laura that Judy had passed away. Although I did not Judy very well, I remember her friendly smile and warm hospitality at events I attended for Jayden. I met Judy in FA and got to know her outside FA, when she did my hair. She is a special person who was ususally smiling. I guess her smile is what I will miss the most. I know she is at peace with God now, but will be missed by all of us she left behind.

Dear Duane, Missy, Chris and families:
We're saddened by Judy's passing. She was always vibrant and had a wonderful sense of adventure. The most important part of her life, though, was her family.
Duane, there's no question that you are the love of her life. You could see it in her eyes whenever she looked at you or spoke of you. She left you with a lot of beautiful memories and a lovely family to share them with.
Missy, Jody and Chris were her greatest achievements. She took great pride in her children. She always loved and admired them as they were - even when she disagreed with them. :)
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She loved every one of her grandchildren and glowed whenever she shared information about them.
We're happy that you all could be with her before she moved on to her next adventure. Take comfort in knowing she is at peace and that her love will always be with you.

A new star shines in Heaven tonight, though out of our reach, not out of sight. The tears we shed for Judy today, will turn to laughter again one day. The family we knew and loved so dear, will again be together in laughter and tears. No pain, no sorrow, ever again, Will keep us from our loved ones then. Melissa & Christian. I'm so very sorry to hear about your Mom. I remember when I was the ring bearer at your Mom & Dad's wedding. I was so excited to get all dressed up - as small as the world can be - I actually work here in Portland with Rochelle the flower girl. I'll always remember your mother as such a beautiful woman. I hope and pray that you find the happy memories to be the strongest ones - I'm sure she would want you to smile when you remember her and be happy in life.
