William Burbeck "Bill" Edgar

William 'Bill' Burbeck Edgar, 90 KENNEBUNK -- William 'Bill' Burbeck Edgar, 90, formerly of Waltham, Mass., died Feb. 26, 2009, at his home at Huntington Commons, Kennebunk. Bill was born July 14, 1918, in Waltham, Mass., where he made his home for 66 years. He served his country in the Army Air Force serving during World War II. After the war he joined his family's floral business, conducting sales all over New England. He married Janice McCoubrey in 1945. After retirement he and Janice moved to Kennebunkport. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Janice in 1997. He later married Althea Curtis Beard. He is survived by his wife Althea and her son Ron and Lillian Beard and her grandson Matthew of Phippsburg; his son, William B. Edgar Jr. of Northboro, Mass., his daughters Nancy Trombley and her husband Robert of Boylston, Mass., and Meredith Hanley and her husband Thomas of Westford, Mass.; and his grandchildren Janna Trombley, Jennifer Hanley and Alyssa Hanley. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, with the Rev. Charles Whiston. Interment will take place this spring at Bass Cove Cemetery in Kennebunkport with military honors. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel. www.bibberfuneral.com.
