Bolger, 83
SOUTH PORTLAND - Constance D. Bolger, 83, a resident of 595 Ocean Street South Portland formerly of Auburn died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 at her residence.
She was born in Brighton, Mass., Nov. 14, 1925, the daughter of Edward M. and Lydia May (Turner) Carroll.
Connie graduated from Lewiston High School in 1943 and worked at Sears Roebuck, Bates College, and Casco Bank. She was married to Robert G. Rivard from Jan. 14, 1946 until his passing on Feb. 5, 1958. She married her second husband, The Very Rev. Joseph R. Bolger on Oct. 21, 1961, who was pastor of St, Michael's Episcopal Church in Auburn for 33 years. While in the Auburn/Lewiston area, Connie was very active in many local organizations, especially the YMCA. They had many friends and happy years together in Auburn/Lewiston before retiring to South Portland in 1986.
In retirement Connie enjoyed volunteering at The Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Portland, swimming at the municipal pool, socializing with friends, playing with her cat 'Tabby', and spending time with her grandchildren especially Brad and Nicole.
Connie was predeceased by The Very Rev. Joseph Raymond Bolger on Feb. 2, 2002. Survivors include one son, Thomas J. Bolger and his wife, Vivienne of Carrollton, Texas, one daughter, Susan B. Pineau and her husband, Robert of Portland; four grandchildren, Adam and Meghan Bolger both of Carrollton, Texas, and Bradford and Nicole Pineau both of Portland; and a great grandson, Chase Bolger of Carrollton, Texas.
Committal prayers will be recited by The Very Reverend Benjamin Shambaugh, Monday 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Cemetery Chapel Switzerland Rd., Lewiston.
