We enjoyed visiting with Jim at Marshfield Healthcare.
Jim loved dances and the old standard dance tunes from the early nineteen hundreds. Although we could never get him to sing, he always had that wonderful smile and tapped his foot to the music when we did sing-a-longs before Christmas. On several occasions, Sherry and I called on Jim, and wheeled him into the day room where I played the piano for his enjoyment.
Jim was very special to Sherry, having known him, as a neighbor, since she was a little girl, growing up in Trescott.
Our sincere sympathy goes out to the family. We will miss him.

Sharon, I send my condolences to you and your family. Your father was a wonderful man...my memories of him, very fond..serving him at the Lion's Club suppers and yes his warm water and milk, he was the special one...our Jimmy. Skating in the field at Foley's as kids...those were good old days...seeing your father on his tractor. Bless his heart may he rest in peace...

Sharon and family, sorry to hear about Jim. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have many fond memories of Jim and his family. I used to spend a great deal of my time as a child at his parents house. Never will forget Delia's molassa cookies and glasses of cold fresh cows milk. Take care and God Bless!

Aunt Sharon: you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I love you and hope you know how much you're being thought of. I hope you find peace in the memories you have of Grampie, and knowing he is again with his beloved wife and Heavenly Father.
Grampie: I have many fond childhood memories of you and how you'd dance with all your little girls and call us your baby dolls. Thank you for playing cards with me. I can hear you now saying after you'd shuffle the deck and poke the middle, "We'll give it a poke for good luck". You're in my heart forever. Love one of your babydolls, Beckie

I'll always remember Grampie when I think of Solitare and drinking hot water w/ milk in it, I think--it was something odd like that, not coffee or tea... and I remember him at any of our birthday parties, Christmas morning, sitting in the chair, dozing off, arms crossed and head hanging over his chest. How could anyone be comfortable that way!?! Brings a smile to my face just remembering that. He was always so kind to us grandkids. He'll always have a fond place in my heart. I'll regret not having the time/chance to know him better.

Sharon: My heart goes out to you and the girls right now. You and I have so many good memories with both Nana and Grampie growing up. These will always stay with us and we can pass them on to our children and grandchildren. I know that I am the person I am today because of the love and kindness that Grampie and Nana showed me. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love always, Carey-Sue

Grampie was a wonderful person. I have such fond memories of riding with him on the tractor, the Bronco, and the sled rides. My greatest memory is dancing with him. I just loved the song Grampie's baby doll. He had so much love for all of us. He will truely be missed. I know he will be watching over us.

Sharon,
Your mom and dad were a second set of parents to me. I have loved them both dearly since the first time I stayed over night at your house in the seventh grade. Your parents treated me as another daughter, inviting me to go places with you, and visit your extended family. There are too many memories to recount here, but some of my fondest are early morning breakfasts with your dad, and -later in life - meeting him for dessert at Uncle Kippy's. My kids referred to him as "Grampie Jim". He received me with delight every time I stopped in to see him, and I will miss knowing that he is no longer waiting expectantly, playing cards to while away the time. I love you.

It is sad to see Grampy go, but we know that he is now reunited with Nana in Heaven. I will never forget how he used to make me feel special by letting me stand on his feet as he danced with me and sang "Baby Doll". I can still remember the smell of Old Spice. He also taught me how to play Solitaire - he was a lot of fun! He left many great memories for his family and friends. With deepest sympathy.
