Doris P. Fontaine

Doris P. Fontaine, 82 SACO -- Doris P. Fontaine, 82, of Pleasant Street, passed Saturday morning March 7, 2009, at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. She was born in New Hampshire Oct. 8, 1926, the daughter of Arthur and Eva Marquis Bernier. Doris attended local schools and her family moved to the Saco area in 1965. Mrs. Fontaine greatest enjoyment was taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and music. Mrs. Fontaine is predeceased by her husband, Marcel W. Fontaine Sr. in 1999; and a daughter, Gloria Collins in 2003. Survivors include two sons, Marcel 'Pete' Fontaine Jr. and Richard Fontaine both of Saco, a daughter, Juliette Fontaine of Sanford; a brother Raymond Bernier of Upton, N.H.; and Lorraine Levesque of East Rochester, N.H.; five grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren and five great- great-grandchildren. Visiting hours are to be held Tuesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dennett, Craig & Pate funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. A private graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
