One of the last of the old-time "ladies" left, although I spotted a few at her service...lot of memories. She always remembered me and my parents. Bernice Skinner Askins, my husband's 90 year old cousin, has a story about her, when she started teaching at Amanda Elementary and I think she had something to do with her wedding. So many do have stories. She stood up for what she believed - admirable quality. So glad to see her at Lauren's grad. party. She was the same as I always remembered her. You will miss her, but have a lot of stories to pass on. My heartfelt sympathy to John, a dear old friend, and family.
With fondness,
Janet Thomas Beedle & family

Our thoughts are with you all. We remember "Aunt Harriet" with great love. We were having dinner tonight with Mark's parents and we were all remembering different "Aunt Harriet" stories...all of them funny, filled with love, and always with Harriet "in charge"!! Harriet was "in charge" the day we got married at First Methodist 27 years ago. She buttoned every one of the tiny seed pearls down the back of my mom's wedding dress I was wearing and then promptly marched me out the door of the bride's room and over to the window in the back door of the sanctuary. She told me to take a good look and remember because once I walked in on my dad's arm, I wouldn't remember anything in there. I thought she was nuts until I walked in on my dad's arm. She was right...as "Aunt Harriet" always was!!! She certainly touched a lot of lives and we are all richer for it. Amy & Jenny were our flower girls that day - wearing dresses Harriet made to match our bridesmaids' dresses. The Palmer family has a special place in our lives and we will keep you in our prayers.

Dear John, Dick, and David, my sister Elizabeth and I remember your mother with fondness. She was always good to us as neighborhood kids playing with you at your house. I remember her also as soloist at weddings. We send our sincere condolences and know you will miss her. Glad she was well so long. Love, Kathy Gould Neff and Liz Gould-Leger.
