On Tuesday, May 12, beloved media executive Suzanne Raitt died after a fierce six-month battle with cancer.
Renowned for her role in changing the way Canadians view the newspaper industry, Suzanne pioneered media research techniques that helped promote the industry and secure prime advertiser support. Her annual presentations on the state of the industry grew into the must-attend events of the year, and her efforts turned her into the global face of Canadian newspapers.
Suzanne held three degrees from Western University culminating in an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, and she served as the Senior VP and Chief Marketing Officer for the Canadian Newspaper Association. She brought considerable marketing and advertising experience to the role through her previous work at A.C. Nielsen Marketing Research, Robin Hood Multifoods, Hershey Canada, Anderson Advertising, Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, and MacLaren McCann.
Suzanne leaves behind her beloved husband Michael, her cherished sons Matthew and Christopher and her father Michael Warren, as well as a host of family, friends and colleagues. Everyone will deeply miss her warmth, grace under pressure, and ability to always hit her deadlines and still make it home on time for dinner with her kids.
We invite you to share condolences in her Guest Book here.
