Billy Powell Obituary
Billy Gray Powell, 78, passed away Monday at his home with his family by his side.
A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Raymond Frank Powell and Pauline Williams Powell. He was the manager of Briggs Hardware for 45 years.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: his daughter, Teresa Powell Bagwell and husband, Jerry of Garner; son, Raymond E. Powell and wife, Patricia of Raleigh; brother, Bagley Williams of Wendell; four grandchildren; two great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Rae Clark Powell and a son, Harold Wayne Powell.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan- Lee Funeral Home in Garner.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
