Miss Peggy was a joy to be around. I loved her smile, her sharp humor, and her love NC State basketball. One of my fond memories was visiting Miss Peggy in Raleigh and asking where she would like to go for lunch. Without missing a beat she said, "Taco Bells because none of my friends can eat that spicey food." Miss Peggy was in her 90s then. My deepest sympathies to all her family.

My father shared his affection for Aunt Peggy with all of our family and we loved visiting her when we were in Raleigh. I remember her vivacious laugh, funny stories, and warm hospitality! She was a lovely woman who will be missed. Karen Eller Buddington (Ike's youngest)

Peggy's long and fruitful life certainly calls for celebration, and I know she will be greatly missed. My mother, Jamie Crenshaw Maiden, enjoyed church related contacts with Howard and his mother, and being included in the Britton Maiden reunions. I enjoyed the reunions, too, and Peggy was always a bright light there. My mother and Howard were second cousins once removed, and my father, Hobart Maiden and Howard were second cousins, so we could claim blood kin, too. You are a wonderful family, and I was always impressed at how much that included in-laws! Love and prayers, Joanna Maiden Owens

It was a joy to know my good friend, "Nanny". She always welcomed me with open arms as an "extended " family member for 44 years. What an amazing person she was! I remember running to catch up with her when she was 90 and walked much faster than her younger friends. I loved her sense of humor and admired her intelligence. Kenny thought of her as his grandmother, and loved visiting her. We will miss her so much!
I wish I coud be there to help celebrate her life. My deepest sympathy to all of you!
Much Love to all,
"Willie" (Mary Will Long Thomas)
