Wade Harris taught me many things over the past 8 years that I have been in this family. But most of all he taught me about LOVE, HONOR and RESPECT. He did not have to be in front of a classroom to teach that, he taught it in his everyday life. I am grateful to have known a man as great as he was. To a great teacher, musician, and friend You will be missed and will live on everyday in my heart and life.

My uncle was the last of the Harris children, being Stacy,Clyde,Joe,Mac,Norman, and Ruby. Now my Uncle is with his wife Martha and our love ones whom have passed before him. May they be in Gods house, may they know we are looking to one day rejoin them in celebration. We also celebrate their memory here, to share with others the wonderful things they taught. Now is the time we carry on the legacy, the torch has been passed to each one of us, may we carry it with honor and dignity.

We were fortunate to have Mr. Harris participate in our Civil War Memorial to my great grandfather Vick in 1999, Nash co.
His songs were enjoyed by all.
He was a very nice person.

While I recently met Mr. Harris through a local book group, I felt I'd met a true Southern Gentleman and historian. I'm saddened and sorry that I wasn't able to spend more time with Mr. Harris, getting to know him. He's obviously left quite a living legacy with his family. My thoughts and prayers are with the Harris Family at this time. I feel quite fortunate having had the privilege meeting this fine Southern Gentleman and Patriot.

A true Southern Patriot has crossed over the river. I am so very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Harris. He was truly an inspiration to us all. From his music, to his unparalelled dedication to Point Lookout, he poured his heart, soul and love into everything he did. A mighty fine Southern gentleman now rest beneath the shade of the trees.
The entire Harris family will remain in the thoughts and prayers of The Old Brunswick Camp # 512 - Sons of Confederate Veterans.
