Richard Orander Obituary
He was born on December 30, 1934 in Crumpler, WV. His parents were the late Joseph and Mary Gray Orander.
Richard was a graduate of North Fork High School and entered the US Air Force in 1953; later serving many years in the reserves. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Virginia and retired from EMC (Data General) in 2000.
He is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 52 years; three sons, Richard Jr. and his wife, Connie, Robert and his wife, Kaye, Joseph Orander; his sister, Evelyn Bastain.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009 and prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday March 27, 2009 service at 2:00 p.m., chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave. Entombment to follow with military honors at Raleigh Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC or to the charity of your choice.
