Edith Ward Obituary

March 7, 1917 - March 24, 2009
Edith C. "Sally" Ward, 92, of Wilson, died Tuesday.
Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Ray Barnhill will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday immediately following the service and at other times at 1406 Mercer St.
Mrs. Ward was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband of 72 years, William Richard "Dick" Ward; a daughter, Gloria Faye Ward Hanson and husband, Bruce of Rochester, NY; a granddaughter, Jana Renee McCormick and husband, Darin of Lima, NY; a grandson, Jeffrey William Hanson and wife, Missy of Virginia Beach, VA; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Richard Hanson, Matthew David Hanson, Brittany Lynn Hanson, Ryan Alexander Gray and Emily Rose Gray; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry M. Batten and Elma Wall Batten; a granddaughter, Jennifer Edith Hanson; a sister, Ruby I. Jones and a brother, James E. Batten.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to Forest Hills Baptist Church Building Fund, 1407 Forest Hills Road, Wilson, NC 27896.
