Charlotte Huff-Klingener Obituary

NEWTON - Charlotte Maud Losey Huff-Klingener, 79, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, after a short illness.

Born in Sussex on Dec. 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harvey J. and Anne Hutt Losey. Charlotte was a lifelong resident of Newton, a 1946 graduate of Newton High School and was employed by The New Jersey Herald, U.S. Bureau of the Census and All Quality Care of Newton. Charlotte spent numerous winters in sunny Jensen Beach, Fla., and was a member of the Newton Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She had volunteered at the Church of Hope in Stuart, Fla., and Newton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Her priority in life has always been her family and friends. Sussex County has truly lost a native daughter.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Stanley I. Huff, of Stillwater, who died in February 1973, and Elwood "Al" Klingener, of Newton, who died in January 2006.

Charlotte is survived by her four children: Ed Huff and his partner, Bill Barrett, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Glenn Huff and his wife, Diane, of Dallas, Texas, Kathy Member and her husband, Rob, of Newton, and Maryann Casciano and her husband, Emil, of Salem, Conn.; as well as her eight grandchildren, Clayton and Elliot Huff, Garrett and Kacie Member, and Jessica, Emily, Felicia and Joseph Casciano.

Visitation will be held at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Newton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 54 High St., Newton, NJ 07860 or Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860.
