Paul D. Mastropolo Sr.

HAMBURG - Paul D. Mastropolo Sr., 82, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Newton Memorial Hospital under the compassionate care of Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice. Born in North Bergen to the late Nunzio and Jenny Mastropolo, he lived there and then in Byram for 21 years before moving to Hamburg 15 years ago.

Mr. Mastropolo had been employed by Singer Kearfott in Little Falls as a financial analyst for 30 years and retired 18 years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Mastropolo was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Hamburg, St. Jude's Seniors, Hamburg Seniors, Hardyston Seniors, Over 50 Club of Sussex, AARP of Wantage and the V.F.W. of Newton.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; one son, Paul D. Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Andover; his two daughters, Debra Capalbo and her husband, Peter, of Hackettstown and Lisa Malone and her husband, Thomas, of Ogdensburg; his sister, Silvia De Julia of Saddle Brook; his sister-in-law, Helen Mastropolo of West New York; and four grandchildren, Danny and Lauren Capalbo and Christopher and Devin Malone.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, from the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Hamburg, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Ogdensburg. Friends may pay their respects to the family today, Aug. 15, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
