Not sure what to say?

Harold was a wonderful neighbor to my late father-in-law and his wife, John and Bernice Senkewitcz. Whenever it snowed, "Harold" had always shoveled them out before we could get there to help. I enjoyed reading of his bithday party this summer and was happy to know that he was still an active man at 100. I hope that happy memories will help to sustain the family of this special gentleman...

To the family
As pointed out many times already, your dad (grandfather, etc) was a very special person. Although I have not seen him in many years, I have spoke of him often. Bragging about knowing him and learning from him. Definitely one of my favorite people.

He will always have a special place in my heart and memories.

Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Carole and Don,
Mr. King was truly a special man and will be missed. Zachary took quite a liking to Mr. King and I believe the feeling was mutual. I felt it was quite adorable to watch the two of them interact.

Dan and I are here if you need anything.

I taught at Stanton from 1974 - 2000. Harold was the most wonderful, happy man. He always had a smile on his face. I have many wonderful memories of Harold, but the the ones that stand out are planning his retirement party, the party itself which was attended by over 125 people, "King For A Day" when the children honored Harold's retirement and Harold helping to teach my second graders the "Maypole Dance" complete with a volleyball pole and crepe paper streamers. After he retired, in the morning I would always stop my car next to his at the end of the drive for our morning chat. After I transferred to Teachers, there would be a toot of my horn and a wave on my way down NL Tpke. Stanton School and Norwich has lost a great man.

I was a student at Stanton School in the Sixties and my mother was the school secretary. Mr. King's smile is one of my favorite memories of those years. My condolences to the family.

He gave so much to the kids, was a blessing to have him part of community, and growing up.

I lived next door to the Kings until he sold the house to my family. I remember him (and Helen) as loving and wonderful "Grandparents". The yard I had when I was growing up was very small and they let me play in their "huge" yard whenever I wanted. I can remember "Grandpa King" mowing his yard and shoveling his driveway well into his 80's. I remember "Grandma King" jumping rope with Tammy and I when she was in her 60's. Whenever they would see me playing outside they would always have some sort of goody to give to me, usually cookies. They spoiled me as if I was their grandchild, and I will always remember the smell of their home. I cannot explain it but to me it smelled of love.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
