David Wemple Obituary

Passed away in Paradise, CA on October 28, 2011 and entered into his final paradise in heaven. David was born in Sacramento on May 29, 1940 to his parents Murray and Maurine (deceased). David attended schools in Sacramento and upon graduation enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served honorably aboard the USS Ticonderoga. After serving in the Navy, David followed in his father's and grandfather's footsteps by joining the Sacramento Police Department. David loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking long walks with his dog, Chu-i. He is most remembered for his keen sense of humor and his love for his children and grandchildren. He was a very sentimental soul and his home was a testimony of his love for family displayed by the many family pictures.

David was preceded in death by his twin sister Gail Odell. David and Gail were very close and had many friends in Sacramento.
David also leaves behind his sister Sandra Dyer. David is survived by his daughter Karen Wortendyke, and husband John, and grandchildren, Ashley, Blake, and Johnny. He is also survived by his son David Duane Wemple, Jr. and wife Melissa, and granddaughter Cortney.

God welcomed him with open arms.
