ZACHAREK EDWARD THADDEUS ZACHAREK On Wednesday, April 30, 2008; died peacefully at his home. A native of Syracuse, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Carol Zacharek and children, Ken, Gary, Keith, Eddie Zacharek and Nancy Tolbert. He was preceded in death by his son George Zacharek; also survived by five grandchildren, Jason, Kim, Kat, Eryn and Holly; two brothers, George and Fred Zacharek. Edward served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. He retired after 35 years of employment with the Department of Veteran Affairs, Department of Medicine and Surgery.
