I was so saddened to hear of Chuck's passing last weekend when I ran into his granddaughter Caitlin. Chuck hired me as a Commercial Underwriter a State Farm 22 years ago. He and I have exchanged Christmas cards since his retirement. I remember your mom Jackie and attended her funeral at Beymer. Chuck was always so proud of his family and would shine when talking about each of you. I will always appreciate Chuck for believing in me 22 years ago. We can thank God for putting Chuck in our lives and know that he is no longer suffering. Each of you will be in my prayers.

I am sorry I did not know when the funeral was. I would very much liked to have attended. Know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Chuck, San, Debbie, Tim, Caitlin, Jessica, TJ, Natalie, John, Emily, Jett, Laura, Alyson and Matthew,

I just wanted to let you know that Drinda and I loved Papa very much. He was always so wonderful to us. We were always invited to every celebration that the Bachelder Family had at their beautiful home. Even on Christmas and Thanksgiving which are primarily for immediate family we had a standing invitation. I will never forget the computer room that Papa had set up for all of the children. They all loved playing on it and learning.
We so enjoyed our dinners at the Outback before and after Papa and Mary went on their many extraordinary trips. Papa was animated telling all of the stories about their experiences.
Papa was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren each and every one. He loved them more than life itself.
I know you will miss him terribly but know that he wouldn't want to be here battling the disease. He had come to the crossroads where he couldn't enjoy life as he had always done. He had a full and very happy life with Jackie and each of you brought him such joy in your own special way. The memories you have of your special times together will always keep Pops close to you in your heart.

I would like to share a special poem with you that a friend gave me when my mother died.

Togetherness
Death is nothing at all - I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name (POPs), speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before - only better, infinitely happier and forever - we will be one together.

Your letter about your Dad, San, that you shared with all of us had something special that each and every one could relate to about the good times that we shared together. They were priceless.
Papa would want us all to love one another as much as we can and make many more special memories together living our lives to the fullest. Nothing would make
Papa happier. He is now enjoying his
heavenly reward that he earned in this life. He couldn't be happier now that he is with Jackie.
Please know that Aunt Drinda and I are here for you always. Love Always, Foof

My thoughts and prayers are with Chuck’s family today. Chuck was such a caring person and represented Lakeridge Condo on the board for many years. He was always willing to look at both sides of any decision that he had to make as a Board Member. He was such a help to me as Vice President. Later he took the role of President despite his own health problems. He made a good President and still was serving on the board in a lesser capacity when he passed.
God be with you, Chuck; you are now free of pain, and in a better place.

We have many wonderful memories of your Dad. We spent a lot of time traveling together and enjoying life with Jackie and Chuck. Many fond memories of some of the things that happened over the years. He will be sorely missed but I'm glad he is no longer suffering. Heaven is a much better place than we have here on Earth. Carol & Cliff Hall
