Saw Dick in a Carol Burnett rerun last night. I was reminded of what an immensely talented, funny and charismatic man he was, separate and apart from Laugh-In. Definitely a one in a million loss. RIP.

Memories of " Rowan & Martin's Laugh In" back in the 70's still leaves me with joy. Good old wholesome family comedy me and my mom & dad watched together. Dick was so much fun to watch in action always either laughing, smiling or telling a joke...THANKS FOR THE GOOD TIMES.....RIP

I saw Rowan and Martin while they were starring at the Sahara Hotel and Casino in the early 1970's. In person they were even funnier and more outrageous than they were on Laugh In. No blue material, only funny, goofy humor that had the whole audience laughing from beginning to end. Sorry to see you go. You left me with a lot of laughs and a name from one of your skits that I use when I try to hide my on-line identity-Farquhar P. Parkenfarker.

Dear Dick, though this is a bit late I wanted to tell you that from my childhood to middle age you always could brighten my darkest and most painful days. Though you are no longer with us, your wit, humor, class and wisdom still remains for us all of us to enjoy and share. I Just watched a 3 and 1/2 hour interview with you and let me say you have made the world a more joyous place for us all to live in. Thank you Sir for all of this and more and God Bless your Family.

For Dick...your talent will
be remembered through the ages.
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

MAY GOD BLESS THE MARTIN FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW.
MR. DICK MARTIN--CRAZY GUY! OFF THE WALL! TALENTED COMEDIAN.
ROWAN AND MARTIN'S LAUGH-IN WAS THE CUTTING EDGE OF COMEDY IN THE 1960'S--EVERYBODY ON THE SHOW HAD THEIR OWN CRAZY CHARACTER, I.E. HENRY GIBSON--THE SIMPLE DORKY POET, JO ANNE WORLEY SHOUTING OUT "BO-RING!", LILLY TOMLIN, THE WACKY TELEPHONE OPERATOR SAYING "ONE RINGY DINGY" TWO RING DINGY" THEN SNORTING LIKE A PIG--CRAZY! ARTE JOHNSON AS THE OLD BUM ON THE PARK BENCH THAT WAS ALWAYS FLIRTING WITH RUTH BUZZI, WHO ALWAYS BEAT HIM WITH HER PURSE, AND THEN HE WOULD FALL OVER! THAT ONE WAS THE FUNNIEST! AND GOLDIE HAWN AS THE SOCK-IT-TO-ME GIRL.
DICK AND DAN WERE THE PERFECT HOSTS TO ALL THAT MADNESS!!
AND FINALLY--DICK'S "FLYING FICKLE FINGER OF FATE!"
LOVED IT!!........THANKS FOR THE LAUGHTER AND MEMORIES!..............

I laughed so hard when I first saw Rowan and Martin do their Shakespeare in a Night Club routine.I later saw them do an,'uncensored,'version of it on the stage in 1969.I saw Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In regularly for the first few years anyway-and even during the last few years I would occasionally tune in.I am glad that he found a new career in his later years as a director for Family Ties and many other shows. Now he and Dan Rowan are together in that big Laugh-In in the sky!
ROWAN:You need excercise. The first thing in the morning before I read my mail I run five miles!
MARTIN:You should move your mailbox closer to the house!
ROWAN:I mean,real excercise.Have you ever picked up a dumbbell?
MARTIN:Last night I did!

What a fantastic talent, and a great comedian. "Laugh-In" never lacked laughter, especially with Rowan and Martin at the helm. Heaven is now a much brighter place since Dick Martin arrived there. Rest in Peace, Dick.

To Dick Martin's Family,
As a teenager I had the opportunity to see Rowan & Martin in Vegas many years ago. It was by accident that we went to the show. My brother and I tried to get into see my cousins who were dancers in another show but we were too young. My parents felt bad and got us tickets to see the most hilarious Rowan & Martin. They were at the height of their fame and we had watched Laugh-In religiously on Mondays over the preceding years. Class act all the way. My sympathies to Dick's family and friends.

Our prayers are with you for the Lord to be close to you, offering comfort. We both lost our fathers in 2008, Val on Sept. 10 - Elias Boccheciamp and Peter on Dec. 4 - George Schad. We are standing with you in prayer and want you to know our hearts are breaking along with yours for your loss. We have great hope and want to share these thoughts with you. We will pray for your family every time we think of you that you may find the strength in the Lord, to know that He is the closest to us when we feel the most pain. He weeps with us and loves us deeply.
These Bible verses have given us great hope and wish to encourage you as well: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 : "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others that have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with the shout of the arch angel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Comfort one another with these words."
Also, 1 Corinthians 15, the whole chapter really, especially verses 50-58: "Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God: neither does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin: and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
Jesus is coming again as promised! The trumpets of God will sound, His faithful will all be changed at once from mortality to immortality. Our loved ones who have died in Jesus will be called forth from their graves and their next conscious thought will be their joy at seeing Jesus returning. To see Him again!
Doug Batchelor of Amazing Facts once said, "Christians don't die, they go to sleep. If you have Jesus, you have life, everlasting life."
Remember Jesus said "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." May God go with you.

Dear Family:
I am writing to extend my deepest condolences on the loss of a fine and hilarious gentleman. I remember bits and pieces of the Laugh In. I was really too young to remember much. But just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you in your time of loss and wanted to share with you a scripture of comfort from God's Word the Bible. At Isaiah 33:24,"And no resident will say,"I am sick." I understand Mr. Martin had respiratory problems for many years. But can you imagine a time where we will all be free of any health issues, being vibrant in health, living in peace and harmony? Well, the Bible promises that it will take place all by means of Jehovah God's Kingdom in which we pray for in the Lord's Prayer. That Kingdom will also accomplish a resurrection, therefore giving you the hope of seeing your loved one once again right here on earth, a Paradise earth. Once more I am so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
CHARLENE ROBISON
