Dick you were something else. You were my Boss, my friend and my mentor. We had so much fun. When you had to sell the business I could have gone anywhere but you talked me into talking to Charlie
I think Charlie won my heart in 2 minutes flat. I loved you two like my Father's. We should have been the 3 Omigos lol. All those years I was so proud to work with and for you guys. Rest in heaven the both of you. Amen

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Dick. He is greatly missed. Dick is a main reason that I am a recovery agent. He always told me that I could do it when I first went to work for American Lenders. When I went to work for Mid Florida State Investigations, he said, See I Told you! Now that my relationship with Mid Florida has ended and I am branching out on my own, I know he is looking down from the heavens, again telling me I told you so, you can do it.
Thank you to him for the many times I looked to him for encouragement and it was always there.
Thank you for being a true friend. You are already greatly missed.

I am a friend of Rosa and her 3 lovely children. What a tragic accident. Now I realize that I am familiar with Dick. I was born in New Orleans and vividly remember articles and TV spots of the work that Dick did after the Huricaine. It is difficult to understand how 2 families have been so devastated by a simple accident. I am sure that Dick and the 3 boys will become good friends in Heaven. We never knew Mr. Richard Douse. After reading the messages from family and friends, It is apparent Mr. Douse was a caring,thoughtful, giving,loving,tough when needed, and a mentor to so many fortunate people young or old. Richard Douse was my ex brother-in-law. He was married to my sister and he and I met in 1966. He was a good brother-in-law and a good friend. He helped me back then and later. He had three children with my sister, Angel, that he sometimes was strict with but for their own benefit. He also had another son, Mark, who I met and I thought he was a very nice young man. I am so sorry that Richard was taken away from his family and friends so suddenly. Richard was my ex-son-in-law but he always kept in touch with me. He would call every now and then to see if he could be of any help to me, and assured me that if I needed something he would be there for me. That was really comforting and I appreciated it. I feel so bad for all of his family. You all will be in my prayers.

I am saddened to hear the loss of Dick Douse. I have been out of the repo business for about five years but will always remember that time, especially because of Dick and his staff at PBR. They were business rivals yet they were our friends too. He would call me first thing in the morning and want to know what happened the night before, tell me what I did wrong and what I need to do to change the outcome. He would even get onto me if I was late for work. The last time I was in WPB, he was one of the few people that I had the pleasure of talking to and catching up with. My family has lots of memories of Dick. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.

I was VERY fortunate to at one time be the brother-in-law to this great man. 35 years ago and at eight years old, Richard taught me everything I know about hunting, motorcycle riding, stock car racing, CB raidos, driving stick shift, airboating and dealing with a great many of life's challenges. He treated me like his own little brother and I have ALWAYS thought of him as one of my big brothers. He will be truly missed and society will miss this compassionate soul with a larger than life attitude. My Uncle Dick sure was a crazy one at times, always made me smile and laugh(airboats- scared me to death letting me drive that thing). In Dick's eyes I saw happy family times, flying on his airboats and doing everyday things necessary to make the next day better. When he set his mind to do something he would get the job done. Dick isn't gone, he lives on in all the people whose lives he had touched. It was a privledge to have known such a great man. We will miss him.

Although my relationship with Dick started out on an adversarial basis, we did manage to become friends and a mutual respect between us was born.

We hope you can find comfort in knowing what a wonderful man Dick was and the way he touched so many of our lives by teaching, caring and sometimes even scolding. He was a great man and the towing industry has lost one of the best, but again we have learned from him! Thank you for sharing him with all of us!

Nancy,Kyle & the entire PBR family our hearts go out to all of you .Dick was a GREAT man in so many ways - there is a huge hole in many hearts now that he is gone. We shared many great times with Dick & the memories we will always cherish ,The times we spent at the conventions together.He will be GREATLY missed.
