Wayne Cabaniss Obituary
Visitation is from 6 -8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at Bratcher Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, with Dr. Chet Haney and Rev. Daniel Cabaniss officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Denison.
Pallbearers will be Ron Bostwick, Gary Mobley, Toby Vest, Steve Jones, Basil Bigbie, Delmas Northcutt, Larry Cruise, Harold Haddock and David Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Parkside Baptist Church, the Men's Sunday School Class and Robert Sylvester.
Wayne was born May 28, 1940 in Bingen, Ark., the son of George Cabaniss and Viola Marshall. He married Betty Orr in Lebanon, Okla. on April 21, 1961. He was a retired president of Landmark Bank in Denison.
He is survived by wife, Betty of the home; sons Daniel Wayne Cabaniss and wife Alyssa of Shawnee, Okla., Charley Cabaniss and wife Angela of Milburn, Okla.; daughter Sandy Hammick and husband Jeffery of Durant, Okla.; brothers George Cabaniss of Athens, Texas, Tommy Cabaniss of Texarkana, Ark., J. D. Schott of Willis, Texas, Harold Griffith of Nashville, Ark.; sisters Nancy Wallis of Yukon, Okla., Kathy Wolfe of Van, Texas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dean Cabaniss.

Betty, I was saddened today to learn of Wayne,s death. He was a good man and will certainly be missed by family and friends. Especially the 58 scrapper team. Joe Cowling a fellow scrapper team mate.
