Jo Breese Obituary

JO ELLEN BREESE (NEE SHARP) HOBART, IN Jo Ellen (nee Sharp) Breese, age 70 of Hobart, born and raised in Gary, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2008. Jo Ellen was a graduate of Horace Mann, class of 1956 and attended Indiana University. She went to work for the family business at Sharp Brothers Garage in Gary. In 1965 she and her husband Barney opened Republic Frame & Axle in Miller. She was past President and Secretary of the Hobart Township School Board. She was a former Hobart Precinct Committee member and served on the Hobart BZA. She was also past President and a member of the Miller Business Assn., and the Lake Station Bicentennial Committee. Jo Ellen loved spending time at the family cottage in Michigan. Jo Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard V. "Barney" Breese in January 1998; her parents: Charles and Bernice Sharp; her brother, Chuck Sharp; and her sister, Claire Michaels. Jo Ellen is survived by one son, Thomas C. (Holly) Breese; three grandsons: Michael Rodino, Brian and Brent Breese all of Hobart; brother, Tom (Ann) Sharp of Columbus, IN; brother-in-law, Allan (Phyllis) Breese of Streamwood, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart with Rev Darrel Schultz officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Burns Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to River Forest Dollars for Scholars, c/o Treasurer, River Forest High School, 3300 Indiana Street, Hobart, IN 46342. www.burnsfuneral.com

To the Breese Family (Tom, Holly & the boys): Sorry to hear about the lost of Jo Ellen. We will both miss her greatly. We really enjoyed the Wisconsin trips, Thankgiving dinners and the card games at the lake. She will be missed by all her family and friends, but will be in our hearts forever.
