Ubaldo Miranda Pena

UBALDO MIRANDA PENA FORMERLY OF EAST CHICAGO Ubaldo Miranda Pena, age 74, of Quiroga, Michoacan, Mexico and former longtime resident of East Chicago, passed away with his wife, Irma, on September 27, 2008. Ubaldo is survived by three children: Ubaldo Jr. (Shelley) Miranda, Sylvia Miranda and Corina Marisol (Joe Lozano) Miranda; grandchildren: Marisa (Jimmy) Vazquez, John (Cynthia) Miranda, Matt Johnson, William (Ashley) Miranda, Hope (Tony) Evaro, Sara Miranda, Raven, Carly and Delilah Miranda, Andrew, Christian, Jacob and Joseph; brothers: Carlos (Corrine) and Arturo (Ellie) Miranda; sisters: Anita Perez, Olivia Medellin and Yolanda (Guillermo) Cano; great grandchilden: Isabel, A.J., Andrew, Felicity, Mariah, Jordan, Isaiah, Faith and Trinity; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Miranda; Fernando Ascencio (Padrino); father, Silviano Miranda; mother, Guadalupe Miranda; and grandson, Jason Johnson. Ubaldo served in the U.S. Army and was a former employee of Inland and Bethlehem Steel. He enjoyed his retirement in Michoacan, Mexico where he built his dream home. Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 W. Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 (219-980-5555). Mass will be Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 525 N. Broad Street, Griffith, IN with Fr. Theodore J. Mens officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated. Ubaldo Miranda Pena will be deeply missed by his loving family and dear friends. May God Grant Him Eternal Rest.
