Cousin Jim here. Blaine was a genius in business and finance. He shared his wealth with family. I remember fondly to this day his treating us to fettuccine Alfredo to which he added shaved
truffles from France. A little fist-sized truffle which he brought from NYC cost him $100.

It's not everyday that you get to meet someone as great as
Mr. Roberts. He has helped me with my homework, and prep for tests. He made the most unbelieveable chicken, it was GREAT, If you ask me he outbeats Albert Einsteinwith
his smarts, and that has carried down to his daughter Kelli. I hate math, but he helped me understand it in a way that no one else could.
He will be missed by many people, he was a great person.

Blaine Roberts is truly missed. I miss his vision and his faith in those he believed in. I miss his great humor and his kindness. I miss his great cooking and his passion for ideas. Actually, we all have the memory of his faith in us to live with always. That includes his Jeannette who he loved and believed in, and all of his children and his family and good friends.
Blaine was one of the most important people to me in my life and my art. They say that “art can be a bridge between people”. We shared that bridge. I have to share one of his generous acts. He made it possible for me to begin an ultimately completed commission of very large cloud paintings for my hometown church “Our Saviors Lutheran Church” by donating the starting funds. That would not have been done without him and his spirit. He will always be remembered for that by the people from my church in Racine Wisconsin.
Blaine owned my very first black painting and one of my most important cloud paintings ever…”Here and Beyond”. He is in that Beyond now, but the memory of him will be with us forever.

Blaine was my mentor in graduate school, a colleague who accelerated my academic career at the U of South Carolina, and the man who brought me to Wall Street as my boss at Bear Stearns. Most importantly, he was my best friend, and I will always remember the good times. There were a lot of them.

Blaine Roberts was my immediate boss and friend at Bear Stearns. Blaine revolutionized the Mortgage Group at Bear with his sharp intellect and an amazing ability to reshape opinion to a common cause, that made us the envy of Wall Street. Despite his accomplishments, he had an innate grace that never took life too seriously. He remained a steady hand for his friends and colleagues.
To Blaine's family, Blaine will always live in your hearts as he is irreplaceable. May the Lord give you the strength to bear his loss.
Blaine, may your soul rest in peace!

In my opinion, Blaine was the brightest economist ever to serve on the faculty of the University of South Carolins. We are all shocked and saddened by his death.
