Harlan Shanower Obituary
Age 96, of Richville died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born Nov. 8, 1916 in Welshfield, Ohio. to the late Olen and Cora (Mathias) Shanower. He was a Richville resident since 1953 and a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Harlan retired from Republic Steel in 1980 with 40 plus years and also retired from REM Commercial. He was a member of Perry Township Fire Dept. Station #2 Richville, Stark County Fire Fighters Assoc. and the Richville Park Board.
Preceded in death by three brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara J. (Miller) Shanower; five children and spouses, Mike and Cynthia Shanower, Donna 'Trudy' and David Stalder, Bill and Carolyn Shanower, Debby and Mark Shanower, Wayne Shanower; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan 30, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Ronald Bryant officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 pm with a Fireman's Last Alarm Memorial Service at 7:45 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Stark County Fire Fighters Assoc., 306 Wooster NE., Navarre, OH. 44662.

Dad,I didn't know that morning you were going to be called home. I loved you deeply and in death I do the same. My heart is broken to lose you, but please know you didn't go alone. You took part of me with you the morning you were called home. You left me with peaceful memories, I know I cannot see you but I know you will always be at my side.
