Clement Knorowski Obituary

Clement Michael "Clem" Knorowski, 79, of Pond Hill Road, Mocanaqua, died Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2015 at home.

Born Jan. 18, 1935 in the house in which he lived, he was a son of the late Michael and Frances (Lavitski) Knorowski.

He graduated in 1953 from the former Shickshinny High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed for 30 years at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Plains Township, from which he retired. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary's Church and the Polish Falcons Club, both of Mocanaqua. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, hunt, pick mushrooms and work in his garden.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Knorowski.

Surviving are his wife, the former Annette Kotch, whom he married June 29, 1972; three sons, Michael C. Knorowski and his wife, Gayle, Nanticoke; Kevin Kotch, and Nicholas Knorowski, both of Mocanaqua; a daughter, Cathe Sandifer and her husband, John, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Kristy Knorowski, Kristopher Sandifer, Aleksander Sandifer, Brandon Knorowski, and Ashton Knorowski; a brother, Henry Knorowski, Berwick; and a godchild, Dr. Jennifer Zatorski.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua, with his pastor, the Rev. Louis Kaminski, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mocanaqua, with military services by Shickshinny American Legion Post 495. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
