Lyle Charles Clark

Lyle Charles Clark entered the next world peacefully at his home on August 23, 2013 while recuperating from a stroke. He was born on September 25, 1937 to Edwin and Marion (Loomis) in Camden, NJ, and was raised in Collingswood and Waretown, NJ. On January 10, 1958, he married the love of his life, Muriel E. Clark, and they raised their family in Cinnaminson, NJ. He retired from Rohm and Haas (Bridesburg) as an Analytical Chemist after 30+ years of dedicated service, and they spent their retirement years in Waretown, NJ.

Lyle was a gardening enthusiast, an avid bird watcher, and a passionate fisherman- he was especially fond of fishing off of Island Beach State Park and crabbing in Barnegat Bay. He was a true bayman, and for over a span of 60 years he had intimate knowledge of Barnegat Bay and the surrounding waters. Lyle was a long-time member of the Happy Hour Club in Maple Shade, NJ and member of the Lagoon View Yacht Club in Waretown, NJ where he held the positions of Fleet Captain, Rear Commodore, Vice Commodore, and Board Member (Staff Commodore) from 2009-2013. He was the Harbor Master of the BBCA Lagoon in Waretown, NJ for many years. He was also a member of the Lacey Elks Lodge #2518 in Forked River.

Survivors include his wife Muriel; his children, Deborah L. Ryder (Robert) of Southampton, NJ, David C. Clark (LaNeta) of Turnersville, NJ, and Diane E. Lynch (Francis) of Duluth, GA; 8 grandchildren Jerome M.Sheldon, Rebecca L. Sheldon, Danielle C. Ryder, Naomi L. Ryder, Stephanie A. Clark, David M. Clark, Bonnie R. Clark and Heather J. Lynch.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ ( An Ocean County memorial service is pending.
