Roger Alan Kritenbrink, 75, passed away July 3, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be Friday, July 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, and the funeral service on Saturday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Church, 4343 Fuller Road in West Des Moines. Burial will be Monday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Roger was born September 22, 1941 in Omaha, NE to Robert and Laurine (Schauland) Kritenbrink. He grew up on the family farm in Papillion, NE until leaving to join the US Air Force in 1962. He returned from the service and worked for Timber Pine for 30 years and later for the Tandy Leather Company for 10 years. A true outdoorsman, Roger loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sandee; his children, Scott (Lisa), David, Michelle (Mark) Kritenbrink-Foley, and Jeff (Amy); sisters, Darlene Drefs and Carole (Jim) Neuvirth; brother, Jerry (Kandy) Kritenbrink; and 9 grandchildren, Zach, Alex, Lucas, Logan, Lexy, Presley, Emma, Jenni, and Kylea. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; and sister, Doris.
