Ruth Morehouse Obituary

Ruth Morehouse January 20, 1919 - September 4, 2013 Ruth Morehouse was born Ruth Marjorie Caton on January 20, 1919 in Hespro Alberta Canada to Oscar and Cora Caton. While a young child she moved to Washington State with her parents. She spent her youth there and graduated from Lake Stevens High School. Ruth attended the University of Washington where she met her future husband George Morehouse. She worked at the Seattle Shipyard at the start of WWII. Ruth and George were married in 1942. They were posted around the country while George served as an officer in the army. After the war they moved to Golden, CO and then to Grand Junction in 1951. Ruth raised three children in Grand Junction and helped George with his mining and ranching activities. She was involved in numerous social groups including WAAIME'S. Ruth enjoyed painting, horseback riding, and traveling. She was preceded in death by George in 2004. She is survived by daughters, Janet ( Jerry ) McKissen, Judy ( Jim Cook) Morehouse; son, Don ( Pat ) Morehouse. There are also two grandsons and two great-granddaughters. A family service will be held at Veterans Memorial Park later this Fall. Donations may be made to Hope West and Hospice Care Center.
