Ken here. I met Col Mike Tarmsn in 1969 in Tay Ninh Vietmam. Mike
Was my Commanding officer in the 25th MP Co. He chose me to be his PMI Provost Marshall Investigator
We had many interactions and conversations. So memorable
Always thought of him thru the years. Just now today I noticed we shared the same birthday only one year apart
Never knew that
At the 2015 reunion in Lexington Kentucky heard of his death
Soo sad
He has been a great memory for me for 55 yrs now.
God Bless you Mike Tarman

One of the members of OCS 19-67 that we all miss. He made several reunions and is missed by all. We followed his Pacific Coast Trail quest with great pride.

When I was 18 in the summer of 1987, I was in basic training and MP School in Ft. McClellan Ala. Lt. Col Tarman was the 795 MP Bn Commander and I was a private in Alpha Co. I recall Col Tarman occasionally chating to us troops giving us encouragement and boosting the moral. As a young private I thought Col Tarman was a hell of an officer as he motivated us to succeed. During this time period, leaders like Col Tarman were influential to me. I went on to start my career in law enforcement and served in the 1st gulf war as an MP soldier. I will be retiring from my police career in 3 years closing out a 35 year police career. I never forgot about my interaction with the Col. Thank you Col Tarman for your leadership and guidance.

As a fellow OCS Class Alum, Mike was the guy you could count on to get things done. At our recent Lake Lanier GA OCS mini-reunion, Mike and I got the chance to get reacquainted and relax together. I brought my three grandchildren out for a couple of days to meet "all of Colonel Grandad's classmates from the war". Mike spent a lot of fun time with all of them and made the trip memorable for all of us. The PCT trail pictures had a huge impact on all of us.
If anyone in the family needs any assistance from me, do not hesitate to contact me here at Ft. Bragg.
We all have been blessed by his presence and look forward to his company again in Heaven.
Condolences to all of your family.

Mike was a great guy who we crossed paths with back in 1966 at Ft Benning. He was one of the OCS Alums who was at many of our reunions. We all followed his PCT challenge with admiration for his goals.

I had the pleasure of being in the same OCS class as Mike. He will always be remembered by me as a fun loving, gracious guy with a great head on his shoulders. I cherish his memory.

I remember Mike in Okinawa while assigned to the 20th MP company from 1966 to 1968. Mike helped train myself and about 6 others for an island wide physical fitness competition in January of 1968. RIP Mike. Condolences to your family.

Mike was a special person and a good soldier. I was on Okinawa in the 20th MP CO. in 1967 when Mike was an Lt. He was always thought of highly by all of us there. For myself and the others that served with him, we are deeply saddened at this passing and your great loss.
