MANTUA - DelBert Ernest Jensen passed away peacefully at home Aug. 22, 2015, at the age of 92.
He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Mantua, Utah, to Ernest and Lola Jensen. He was the oldest of three children, with brother Blaine and sister Maxine. He married his eternal sweetheart, Arletta Johnson, in the Logan LDS Temple on Oct. 29, 1942. Together they raised four children, daughter Sheila (Scott) Reeves; and three sons, Del (Becky) Jensen, Paul Jensen and Keith (Heather) Jensen. He has 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
DelBert and his sweetheart served two missions - West Virginia and 3 years in the Ogden LDS Temple. They have visited all 50 states.
DelBert served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII from 1942-45.
DelBert had a very strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Eagerly awaiting his arrival in heaven are his parents, a brother Blaine, and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Linkin and Adison, along with many friends. We will miss him but know we will see him again as an eternal family.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 South, Brigham City, and again Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the Mantua Ward House.
Graveside services will be held Thursday following the viewing at noon. Interment will be in Mantua City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Box Elder County Honor Guard.
