Jim Hepner was my friend, my mentor/teacher of many things, and my neighbor. I looked at TV college football game today and saw Iowa playing and immediately thought of Jim. So I looked him up and sadly found his obituary. Sad how you lose contact with important people in your life and then try to catch up and it´s too late. God bless you Jim my good friend. I still have the dictionary you gave me with a note inside suggesting I wear out the pages using it to learn.
I have done some interesting things in my life and thank you for your solid foundational guidance you gave me as a young high school student. You´re an amazing man!
Best

I will never forget the way you and Jim greeted me on my first Sunday at Grace. I always tell that story to remind people to be nice to strangers in the church parking lot. Jim always had the most wonderful welcoming smile, and I know he is in your heart forever.

What a very spcial gentleman. I attended St. Louis Univ when Jim ran the MHA program at Wash U. He referred to me as "the guy from Brand X". We always enjoyed our visits together - - although they were infrequent and brief they were great. He also helped me immensely when I made my plans to retire from the Air Force. We had lunch, he reviewd my resume, and gave it a "gold stear", Always the leader and always a great friend. So pleased that he was made an Honorary Air Force MSC a few years ago. Will add him to my prayer list for the dearly departed. Prayers for you, too, Lynn. Mac McClean Colonel USAF MSC Retired
