Dear Yim 'Ohana, We're so very saddened to hear of "Uncle" George's passing. Despite the distance and years that have separated our two families, the memories of our summers frolicking at the Waikiki Wall are forever embedded and cherished. Much love and aloha, Jacob Lau 'Ohana, Kuliouou Valley, Honolulu

I was saddened to learn of George's passing. I remember him well from my days as a graduate student and later as a colleague on the faculty at Purdue. A true gentleman, inspiring teacher and insightful researcher.

George was a friend and mentor to me when I needed it the most in graduate school. I could always count on his wisdom when I had questions for him. I will miss him. Condolences to Ramona and the children.

Dr. Yim was a fantastic teacher! he put up with me messing up many labs in PCOL 640. He expected excellence from us. We tried to give it to him. Dr. Yim (We lovingly and respectfully called him Kwock Wah when he wasn't around). I was a better person because our paths paralleled for a few years. The word was a better place because he passed through and touched us.

You were a remarkable man. The Lord brought u into my life in a chat room back in 2000 just when I wanted to quit. Because of u I found that missing link. I don't need other's to agree with me. I know what I know and my relationship with God is just that - mine. U will always bold a special place in my heart George. Prayers to your family during this time and future.
