Arthur Dallman Obituary

Dallman, Deacon Arthur C. Age 92 years. Went home to the Father and was reunited with his beloved bride and wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Dallman (nee Ziminski) and his proud son, Jeffrey Arthur Dallman, on Saturday, August 10, 2013, after a short illness. He will be remembered and dearly missed by his proud children, Patty Ann (the late Dr. Cyrus) Sarhaddi and Frances (John) Panek; cherished grandchildren, Darius (Jennifer), Darian and Dr. Sarah Sarhaddi, Mark and Ashley Dallman and Laura (Jason) Keener; and his great-grandchildren, Alexis and Jillian Keener and William Sarhaddi. Also left to cherish his memory are his brother, James H. Dallman, Jeffrey's wife, Linda (Jim) Dallman-Repp, sisters-in-law, Olga Bartley, Doris Ziminski, and Ruth Dallman; other relatives and many, many friends, especially the congregation of Christ King Parish. Arthur was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to Arthur F. and Phillipine E. (nee Besch) Dallman, on March 4, 1921. He attended schools in Fond du Lac and achieved Eagle Scout status at the young age of 14. He attended Lawrence University and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1942 with a BS in Art Education and was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. During WWII he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was in charge of the Art and Reproduction School at Fort Custer. He was then stationed at Deschon Army Hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania, in the Medical Administration Corp. During this time, he met his beloved wife, Mary Ann, and was married on September 29, 1945. He began his professional career in Milwaukee and joined Cramer-Krassalt Advertising Agency and was employed with them for over 31 years and retired as Art Director and Graphic Designer. During his career he designed many award-winning ads, captions and logos, including the Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Zoological Society, Catholic Stewardship, United Way, and far too many other accounts to list. Arthur combined his talents during his career. He discovered that through his experiences in advertising he was to translate that part of his talent in promoting the gospel through design, writing and production. He was a long-time member of the Secular Franciscan Order. He was Ordained in the first Deaconate Program for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on December 26, 1975. As a deacon he served the congregation of Christ King Parish in Wauwatosa and was actively involved there for 37 years, in numerous ministries at the church and contributed his artistic talents by graphically designing bulletin covers, pamphlets, and signs for special occasions such as the 50th Anniversary of the church. He was able to witness family marriages, baptize his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arthur will be remembered for his creative talents, reverence for creation, love of God and neighbor, complete adherence to the Gospel and his selflessness, simplicity and humility. Visitation, Friday, August 16, 2013, at CHRIST KING CHURCH, 2604 N. Swan Blvd., Wauwatosa, from 9:30 AM until the time of the concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Immediately following there will be a continued celebration of Deacon Arthur Dallman's life with a reception by the Parish in the Parish Gathering Space. Private committal and entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Arthur's name, to Christ King Reduction Fund or Catholic Relief Service, P.O. Box 17090, Baltimore, MD 21203-7090. We will always love and miss you.
