Hank Listman Obituary

Hank Listman Hank Listman, a fourth generation member of a pioneer Novato family died at home August 16, 2013. He was 94 years old. He was born on May 31, 1919 in San Francisco and was an alumnus of Balboa High School. Hank Spent WWII in the South Pacific and Tiburon and afterwards married his wife of 55 years, Betty, who predeceased him. He worked at many jobs but truly loved his gardening business, which he retired from at the age of 88 - a fact of which he was most proud. He belonged to Novato Elks Lodge #2655, Marin Rod & Gun, Native Sons of the Golden West - Mt. Tarn Parlor #64, Sirs - China Camp Branch 151, Novato Historical Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars. After Hank and Betty moved to Marin Valley Country Club, he spent much of his time volunteering for his many committees. He enjoyed using his talents and people skills helping out at the Club. He loved playing golf and was a big 49er fan, never missing a game. He lived on his own until one month before his death. Hank Listman's celebration of life will be held on September 22nd at the Marin Valley Country Club's Community Room at 3:00 pm. Please, no flowers, instead consider offering a donation to your local hospice, as they helped him in his last days. Hank is survived by his daughter Janice, her son Jared, and two great grandchildren, and his son Jeffrey, wife Cleo and their daughters Jessica and Carly.
