John and Sarah Verhalen Chloe Jameson

MARSHALL — John Philip Verhalen III was born June 5, 1979, in San Antonio, Texas, to Philip and Carolyn Verhalen. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in aeronautical engineering. He made his career around his passion for aviation. He loved being a pilot and took pleasure in sharing this adventure with others, particularly those new to flying. He made it a point to put others' needs ahead of his own and did everything he could to help anyone in any manner. His love for friendships is evident by the continual communication with his friends from all over the world. He was very active, he played soccer throughout his life and made it a priority to take a yearly ski vacation with family and friends.
Sarah Colleen Verhalen was born March 16, 1971, in Naples, Italy, to Carolyn and Philip Verhalen . Sarah graduated from the University of Texas with degrees in French and Spanish. She was the Director of Human Resources Information Systems for the La Quinta Inn hotel chain. She was a world traveler with an enthusiastic appreciation for the language, food and history of many cultures. In addition to many interests, Sarah was devoted to her family and friends and centered her life around her daughter Chloe.
Sarah, John, and Chloe were devoted to their Catholic faith. This was portrayed in their service to others, including family, friends and strangers. Sarah and John were devoted to their entire family and were deeply invested in researching and compiling the Verhalen family tree and organizing family reunions. This brought to life connections among different family branches.
Chloe Marie Jameson was born September 4, 1999, in Jacksonville, Florida, to David Jameson and Sarah Verhalen. She was a seventh grader at Dan F. Long Middle School in Carrollton, Texas. She was well-rounded with both fine arts and sports interests. She competed in state level gymnastics meets and played cello in her school orchestra. She was full of life and well loved.
They were preceded in death by their mother and grandmother, Carolyn Medina Verhalen. They are survived by their father and grandfather, Philip Verhalen; stepmother, Sharon Calhoun Verhalen; and grandmothers, Agnes Verhalen and Marie Medina. In addition, there are six uncles; five aunts; 15 cousins; and numerous friends and other family.
Pallbearers for Sarah Verhalen will be Patrick Abel, Benjamin Cantu, Patrick Mayo, Anthony Robinson, Jeremy Verhalen and Keven Verhalen.
Pallbearers for John Verhalen will be Joseph Cantu, David Cason, Daniel Cavin, Jonathan Crittenden, Matthew Larcom and Joseph Mehring.
Pallbearers for Chloe Jameson will be Ryan Abel, Christopher Campbell, Bret Mayo, Samuel Roberts, Sean Roberts and Zachary Verhalen.
