It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing on Friday, September 30, in New York City of our beloved Ralph.
He was the son of Nettie Steinman and the late Irving Steinman. Adored husband of Claudia. Father and father-in-law of Adam and Jenny, Lesley and Joe, and Alexis. Loving grandfather to Isla, Syla, and Robert. Brother and brother-in-law of Seymour and Linda, Mark and Linda, Joni and the late John Harenski. Brother-in- law of Karen and Ed Berkich, Eric and Cindy Hoeffel. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and cousins. Shiva private.
Donations may be made in his memory to Rockefeller University, 1230 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065 or to McGill University in memory of Dr. Ralph Steinman, 1430 Peel Street, Montreal, Quebec, H3A 2T5.

I regret the loss of Dr. Steinman and send my heartfelt condolences to his entire family. Since I saw this obituary, I was wondering if he was a relative of my deceased Grandfather, Solomon Steinman (deceased 1954) and his widow, Edith Steinman (Deceased 1988). Solomon emigrated to the U.S. from Russia around 1900 and my grandmother, Edith was born in Boston in 1900. Any information would be appreciated. Please accept my condolences on the loss of Dr. Ralph Steinman. My late father, Rabbi Joseph Kelman, was the rabbi in Sherbrooke from late 1953 until 1955 and he always spoke very fondly of the Steinman family. May you find comfort in the knowledge that Ralph contributed greatly to the world - may his memory be for a blessing.

My deepest condolences to the family. Mr. Steinman will be truly missed I'm sure. What a wonderful scientist he was. The comfort we get from the scriptures is found in 2 Cornithians 1:3,4. After time has past please take the time to read this encouraging scripture.
