Dean Groves was instrumental in me getting into the JAGC.

I am so very, very sad to learn of the passing of my dear friend, mentor, and the best boss I ever had, Dr. Harry E. Groves. I was his Legal Secretary in Houston, Texas from 1964 to 1966, and his Executive Secretary when he served as President of Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio from 1966-1969. During all of those years, I found Dr. Groves to be a man of great strength and outstanding capabilities. He was smart, highly motivated, and fiercely devoted to his work and to all other endeavors undertaken by him. Dr. Groves was also very kind-hearted and sincere. I also admired him for the gentle and loving attention he always demonstrated to Mrs. Groves during her illness over the many years. Dr. Groves was a great boss who always showed a great deal of thoughtfulness, patience and understanding to me and all of his staff. I wish to express my deepest sympathy to Mr. Sheridon Groves and all of the Family at the loss of Dr. Groves. May God comfort you in your grief and give you peace. I will always remember him and I'll always be proud to have known him

It was a pleasure to know Dr. Groves. I consider him one of the finest men I have
had the pleasure of meeting. He will be missed by many!
