Bernard WILKER Obituary

WILKER
Bernard Harris, was born June 18, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were Belle (Grossman) and Joseph Wilker. He was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and was awarded a degree in mechanical engineering. For many years he worked as an engineer; first at Westinghouse and then as an owner of Independent Metal Fabricators in the Bronx and later worked at Ace Metal Fabricators, also in the Bronx.
He decided to take a different path and opened AlphaGraphics, a print communications company in Paramus, NJ. He was active in the Paramus Chamber of Commerce and was so very proud to be the President of the Paramus Rotary Club. He always believed in helping others and though the Rotary was able to make dreams for those in need come true.
He was a Board member for many years of Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley and led the march of the Torahs when Temple Emanuel moved from Westwood to Woodcliff Lake. On many occasions he led services, especially on the High Holidays and in the homes of members sitting shiva. He was also a Hadassah Associate.
Bernie is survived by his wife Simone (Broome) Wilker and his children, Ari and his wife Rebecca Goldstein, Jared, Noah, Dov and his wife Julie Jacobson, and Sid and one beautiful granddaughter Avigayl Sivan.
Donations would be appreciated to The Foundation Fighting Blindness, Hadassah, or Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, today at Robert Schoems Menorah Chapel, w-150 Route 4, Paramus, NJ, www.schoems.com
