John T. Doyle "Jack", passed away on July 29, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary (Rodgers) Doyle and his parents Michael and Catherine Doyle. He is survived by his children, Clare Coffey(Tim), Maureen Doyle, Timothy (Julia) Doyle and Thomas (Michelle) Doyle. He was a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Army. Jack was originally from Yonkers, NY. Jack and Mary moved the family upstate to Binghamton and became fixtures of the city's First Ward and St. Cyril's Church. Jack was an electrician by trade but was most well known as the bartender at St. Cyril's bowling alley where he would never let your glass run empty or your mouth get dry. Jack loved animals and would always have treats available for his grand dogs as well as the neighborhood's dogs. He was a fan of the NY Mets, NY Giants, Notre Dame and Army football. Jack coached St. Cyril's girls basketball team for many years and was a past member of the Men's Club. Jack will be missed dearly by all who loved him. The family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice and his in-home care team. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the B.C. Humane Society or the Front St. Dog Shelter. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 3rd, 2015 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, 148 Clinton Street, Binghamton, NY. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery. To the family of Jack Doyle,
Jack was the caretaker of the 'School House' on Clinton St. He watched over my mom (and the other women), always attended to the door, and greeted everyone with that 'Proud Irish Smile'! He took mom's paper to her each morning. He delighted in having doggie treats for his 'grand-dog's' and Nikki when she visited. He was always busy doing his crossword puzzles or waiting for his family to visit. Jack loved you all; he loved all of us.
Blessing to the entire family for the loss of your patriarch. He now holds the keys to Heaven.

Don't know what the school house will do without our resident mailman, dog treat dispencerer, paper boy, guardian and ray of sunshine. He watched over his flock of ladies in the building. The love and care you all gave him while he lived here was so touching. We will miss him as you do. My thoughts and prayers are with you, pat f.

Clare, Tim, Tom and Maureen and family....I'm so sorry that I didn't spend more time with your families after my First Ward Lydia Street Days, and with all that goes on in a lifetime, the best days and the best friends and neighbors I ever had was during those times. Jack was such a good man! I wanted to tell you that you all will be in my heart whether we are far away or see each other near. Remembering Jack and Mary when you kids were young, was such a pleasure I was so little, yet I remember watching Jack and Mary with the kids going to church on Sunday and I remember thinking that's how I wanted to be someday. They were good together and he did good after she went on. I'm sure you already know this and that's the great part about it. I want to say I will be at the services for Jack on Monday, but one more time I cannot be. I will be thinking of you all that day. Work and needing my job makes it impossible to take time off, know that you are loved...
