Harold was one of the finest people I ever knew, and was a total mentor for me in business. He gave me my new start in 1965, not realizing how far up he had sent me. My condolences to all the family. He is most fondly remembered,

We have not seen any of you for many years but I will always remember the fun times we had at your house.Your parents were wonderful people. On behalf of the Tregilgas Clan(John,Dana and Ann)our deepest sympathy. Best wishes to all!Ann Tregilgas Smith(AL)

I cut Harold's hair for close to nine years. He was one of my favorite clients. He was always so positive and loved to engage in conversation with everyone in the Barbershop. We will miss him. RIP Harold

I got to know Harold for a time in one of our classes at St. Thomas. He was a special individual, and I was grateful to have gotten the opportunity to visit and talk with him. He will be greatly missed.

Mike, John, Mary, Therese & Andy;
Your Mom & Dad were my Godparents & they (Kitty) sent me a card every birthday 'til I was thirty!
I don't think I've seen either one since my Dad died in '99 but I thought about them often.
I showed up to the funeral late & in my work clothes! I certainly meant no disrespect, but I needed to show up because I missed your Mom's & they were there for me.
Sorry I didn't get to visit with each of you, they were both GREAT PEOPLE!!

Harold and Kitty were special neighbors of ours for 9 years. I will always cherish the times our son Sam would walk over to the Cragg's, knock on the door and ask Kitty if "Harold could come out and play", (which he always did). Our visit this past Easter was a special one as well. God Bless!

I wish to again extend my condolences to your family. I will forever miss the talks your father and I would have when I came by weekly.
When I worked for him at DC Battery he would have everyone stop what their doing and come to the break room for cake and coffee when it was someone's birthday, that's the kind of man he was. He left quite a legacy.

I join with so many others who knew Harold in offering our deepest sympathy on his passing. We had many nice chats at the old Macoubrey (his namesake) home and I cherish those visits. He was an inspiration to say the least!

My sympathy to family members at this difficult time. I was blessed to have met Harold thru employment at H. M. Cragg Co. I can't help but think how happy Harold must be to now be reunited with his beloved Kitty! May they both rest in peace!

Harold grew up with my Dad, Don Gehlen. They both lived in their original neighborhood their entire lives. I knew Harold from TCC and St. Mark's. He was an elegant, sweet and inspiring man and a great conversationalist. He will surely be missed. Blessings to you all.

The description of your father in the published obituary was, in my view, very apt. I became acquainted with Harold in 1988 when I became a member of T & C. In my experience he was an authentic human being, always warm and gracious and with a good sense of humor. It was just last Saturday that Harold called me and we spoke about getting together to play some golf. I cherish my friendship with and my memories of your father. May you find comfort in God's grace and love.
