Ronald Cordova Obituary
Ronald Vincent Cordova MD, born in Albuquerque, August 15, 1958 passed away on September 13, 2016. He is survived by his loving and dedicated parents Vincent and Mary Cordova; his sisters, Loretta Cordova de Ortega (Roberto Ortega), Lorraine Cordova Hines (Russell Hines); his brother, Randall Cordova (Erica Cordova); his former wife, Inge Goetz Cordova, his nieces, Rosalinda, Maria, Victoria, Angelica, Emma; nephews, Nicholas, Christopher, Roberto, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Ann, his grandparents, HB and Cipry Cordova and Manuel and Francis Sanchez.
Ron graduated from Albuquerque Academy and Stanford University and received his MD from the University of New Mexico.
Ron was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague. He was an admired and dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician in California and Oregon for over 30 years. Ron was a gifted athlete, an avid sports fan and a world traveler. He loved travel, great music, good wine, beer and exotic food. His quirky, funny and irreverent sense of humor was seen in his birthday card selections, which will forever be missed by his family.
A rosary will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016, 7:00 P.M., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 AM, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Risen Savior Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Your family doesn't know me, but I know you. On the worst day of my life, your insistence on investigating what was wrong with me, is what saved my life. I was lucky enough to be able to thank you. 17 months later I'm still fighting, but I'm still alive because of you. I can never express my gratitude but I'm still here with my kids because of you. My heart is broken tonight when I found out that you had passed away I will never forget you and how you stayed with me two hours past your shift trying to figure out why I was dying. Ron was a longtime soccer friend to myself, and all the gang on men's league Tuesday nights. Always smiling, warm and positive, a great friend and a gracious host for all the nights he hosted us for pizza and his home brewed beer after the game. Truly a generous and kind man. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences.

His smile lit up many a dark night. His optimism was uplifting to everyone around. His laughter was contagious and probably is the major factor of so many things I will miss.
