Our sympathy and condolences are extended to you, Judi, and Bob's children and grandchildren. Bob was a good guy, in spite of some of his idiosyncrasies—such as golf, golf, golf. Well, he enjoyed the game. And I recall helping him and Lee Erdahl organizing and getting the Uff Da Scandinavian golf tournaments under way in the nineties. Those were enjoyable times, even though I don't play the game.
Yes, he was a good guy, too, as he did some of his Air Force training at Marana Air Base, down near Tucson, in the fifties before he was sent off to Libya. I think he was stationed at Wheelus Air Base for the rest of his Air Force tour.
And then in later days, when we would venture forth to Mimi's for lunch we would proceed to tell war stories and other lies. We both enjoyed those outings, I think. But during these Mimi lunches, Bob was becoming more frail, having to use a walker and the ever present green oxygen bottle. The decline was visible and I wanted to have one more Mimi's luncheon with him about six months ago, but it just wasn't to be.
Rest in peace, Bob.
