Chester Courville Obituary

Anchorage resident Chester Joseph Courville, 74, passed away at his home on May 2, 2011.

A service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Anchorage Christian Church, 1301 West 100th Ave., at 2 p.m. Richard Irwin will officiate the service.

Chester was born on Aug. 12, 1936, in Eunice, La. He was a faithful member of Anchorage Christian Church. Chester loved to fish and hunt. He worked on the tank farm for Fluor Corp. in Valdez, building the pipeline, and then he worked until he retired at J.C. Penny.

His family wrote "Man of faith, glorified God in every aspect of life. He took great pride in his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends."

Survivors include his wife, Jill Courville; daughters Kim Courville-Derden, Mia Hanna, D'Ann Courville-Anderson; sons-in-law Mike Hanna and Robert Anderson; grandsons Matthew Derden, Ian Hanna, and O'Raun Anderson ; granddaughter Rae'mi Starr; brother and sister-in-law Herman and Cindy Courville; sister-in-law Suzy Courville; son-in-law Robert Anderson; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, www.janssenfuneralhomes.com.

There are not enough words in my vocabulary to tell you all what Chetter meant to me. He is my "other" Dad. There is not one thing that man would not have done for me or my family at any given moment. I just hope he knows how much he was and will remain in my heart until I see him again. I love you Chetter.
