beneath chris' gentle exterior was an individual who had a great passion to excel in all his undertakings. I admired chris for that as well as for his integrity and embrace of progressive ideas.

Chris will remain in my heart always, since we were close, starting with our teaching at Pima College in 1970. Precious love.

Chris and I were college sweethearts at SUNY Buffalo in the 60s. We kept in touch for almost 50 years. He was a wise, witty and wonderful man!

Chris and I were college sweethearts at SUNY Buffalo in the 60s. We kept in touch over the years and he is, indeed, a great loss. He was a wise, witty and wonderful man.

I never met Chris in person. I found him to be very professional and helpful. I often thought how kind he was. It was our "Alaska" connection that we discovered we knew the same people. Interesting that I learn of his passing from ADN. Trish (Milwaukie, OR)

I met Chris in Alaska when defending two lawsuits against the Robert Rude Center by two elderly ladies who slipped and fell on the steps. All of the things you say about him in the opening words of his tribute were true--I knew him as a kind, environmentally sensitive, terrific guy. He and I dated briefly in 1984 or so, until one day he came to my house as I was cleaning ducks from a duck hunt. The sight of all those entrails was a little much. It would not surprise me if he became a vegetarian. I am sorry for you to lose him at such a young age. Monica Jenicek
