Janet Meehan Obituary

Longtime Anchorage resident Janet Ann (Burger) Meehan, 75, died April 28, 2011, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nev. She was born in Madison, Wis., on Jan. 4, 1936. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother and Nana to her grandchildren who always had a song on her heart and her lips.

She is survived by her husband, Michael, of 56 years; daughters, Theresa Spitler, Marilyn Fink, Susan McNichols, and Karen Crapps; sons, Thomas Meehan, Daniel Meehan and Patrick Meehan; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Mary Meehan; and sons, Michael Meehan and David Meehan. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church in Henderson, Nev.

A memorial Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Anchorage, with the burial immediately following at the Anchorage Memorial Park cemetery.

Flowers can be sent to St. Benedict Catholic Church in Anchorage.

Mike~I am so sad to hear of your loss. You and Jan shared very many times of suffering and grief during your years together. I can relate to your suffering when you lost your children~ I am sad for you in bearing the loss of Jan. I am happy for Jan that her suffering has ended.
