Nick Stachelrodt Obituary
A memorial service to celebrate Nick's life will be held at a later date.
He was born Feb. 11, 1966 in Tacoma, Wash., to Jon and Mary (Charles) Stachelrodt and was a longtime resident of Alaska. He lived in both Palmer and Ketchikan; and graduated from Palmer High School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Hartzell; and brother, Richard Hartzell.
Nick is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lynn M. Stachelrodt of Palmer; daughters, Felisha, Danielle, and Nichole, all of Palmer; and granddaughter, Krystal Stachelrodt, also of Palmer. He is also survived by his parents, Mary and Jon Stachelrodt of Ketchikan; and his sister, Christa Oliver of Houston, Texas; brother, Dave Hartzell of Seattle, Wash.; and sister, Tonette Oehler, also of Seattle. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nick enjoyed fishing and hunting and anything Alaskan. He was a great friend to all who knew him; and his family said Nick was loved by all who knew him and he will be missed terribly. Nick was taken before his time and his family says he is now an angel watching over all who loved him.
Memorials in his memory may be sent in care of his family to 1110 W. Auklet Ave., Palmer, AK 99645.
Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla was in charge of arrangements.

sorry for your loss stachelrodts nick was always my bro, he unserstood my problems in life and we had such a wonderful conection. Him and I shared many good times togather and was always a connection for fun. Many of my life long friends also new nick and have told me tell you folks that they felt sadden to hear the bad news. I have a hard time with death it tells me that we are all human. I did'nt hear of any funeral sorry I did'nt ask more but am dealing with the loss on my own and feel disconnected without him. I sometimes well up uncontrollably we understood each other. I guess it hurts most how inconvenyant his departure was so sudden. I never had a chance to speak with him. I beleave that if it tells me anything is that we should pull togather as family if I can help please let me know, understand I feel his loss and know that we all go sometime I hoped nievely that I would'nt be touched so I wouldnt have the hurt inside of never having being able to say good bye. We all must go on without his sense of humor and luv it is tough -- I ll always miss Nick especially when fishing or driven by Quallity or the home stead and alway be his little bro markus karkus

Lynn, I am so sorry to hear about Nick. I know its been years since i have seen all of you, but I always remember you and look at our christmas pictures and other pictures of all of us and the time that we spent together in Wasilla. I am very sorry for your loss.. very sad for the girls.

So shocked to learn this sad news of Nick's passing - we've known Nick since he was in 6th grade when we lived near him in Palmer - he spent alot of time at our house and he kept in touch with us during the years because he was friends with my children.
