Daddy it's been eight years since you left us. You were the thread of our family. When you left, the thread broke. Hoildays aren't the same.
Everyone has went their separate way. All I have now are the fond memories of you and our family gathering tucked away in my heart. We all miss you so much.

It's been 8 years since you've past and I can still remember your whistling songs of praise to God. This past Christmas I found myself going down memory lane thinking of when I was younger and how you would be in the bedroom wrapping Christmas gifts. I watched you wrap them chocolate covered cherries for the adults just a whistling along. I can remember thinking to myself how come the adults get the chocolate? Lol....I miss you so much. This evening I lit a candle and put it on the altar in remembrance of you. I look forward to seeing you again on that Great day. I love you popa.

When I Lost You
I wish I could see you one more time come walking through the door. But I know that is impossible. I will hear your voice no more. I know you can feel my tears and you don't want me to cry. Yet my heart in broken, because I can't understand why someone so precious had to die. I pray that god will give me strength and somehow get me through. As I struggle with this heartache that came when I lost you. I love and miss you Daddy.

Daddy you passed away a week ago today. Even though you lived with many challenges in the last three-four years, you never complained. You were an inspiration to us all. You loved your family and the Lord. Praise God you are in Heaven with no neck brace, no more dialysis, no port flushing and no more doctors' appointments. You have a new body now. I know you're having a wonderful reunion with grandpa, grandma, uncle Murrel, uncle Lish, uncle William and all the love ones who left before you. I am so thankful God brought you to our family to teach us lessons in faith, hope, and love. I miss you so much. Meet me at the gate when I get to Heaven. I love you Daddy! Deborah

POPA , Never gripping or complaining, only whistling and a singing. I love the song that was played "IF YOU ONLY KNEW"
Have you prayed for a loved one struggling hard with pain, You ask the Lord for healing but that healing never came. And in spite of all your efforts the good Lord called him home
Now you're down in the valley looking up to the sky
And you're praying, " Lord you know what's best, but I don't understand why."
If you could hear your loved one speaking now to you
They'd say, "You wouldn't be grieving if you only knew."
If you only knew, I'm just going home.
Your prayers have been answered, my sickness is gone.
Things look much better from heaven's view. The sun always shines, we're having a time. If you only knew.
To be absent from the body is present with the Lord. "I'm in the arms of JESUS now and I'm not suffering anymore." Hand in hand we'll stroll together down heaven's avenue.
And we're having a big celebration....If you only knew!!! I love you POPA and I will see you again some sweet day.

My mind goes back to a time when we all use to play together...fun times, memorable times, happy times. I would have tears running down my cheeks thinking back to us running and chasing each other. All 4 of us kids (Jay aka John Sr, William aka Bully, Aileen, and Podge aka Podgey Wodgey Dogey). I sit back and remember those good times and now thinking of you...smiling...knowing you are watching from a far, smiling down on us and waiting for us to join you so we can tease you again. Our little Podgey Wodgey Dodgey.
Love Your Little Sister,

Your battle is now over, no more tears flowing down our cheeks, no more pain, no more suffering, now you are no longer weak. I still do not understand why this had to happen to you, but I am proud to say you are my Dad, the greatest man I ever knew. You were always there for me and never once made me cry, until you closed your eyes and had to say goodbye. Now you are my Angel, so spread your wings out wide, please wrap them around me whenever you see me cry. Our time together was memorable and God took you away too fast, But the most precious thing to me was you being there for my first breath, and me being there for your last. I love You, Your the best.
